About the Bride
Jenn graduated from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA with a degree in Biology. She is currently working at the San Diego State University Bioscience Center conducting cardiovascular research. She enjoys shopping, knitting, and hanging out with the kitties.
About the Groom
Jeff graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA with a degree in Business Finance. He is currently working at QuickStart Intelligence as an account manager. He really loves playing poker and sampling single malt whiskey.
How we met
Jeff and Jenn met on the first day of their senior year of high school in the lunch line. Jenn had heard a lot about Jeff all summer from her cheerleader friends, but didn't make the connection until later that week. Jeff likes to tell people that Jenn called him "THE Jeff Gunn" when she finally realized who she was eating with. They maintained a cordial friendship all year, but sparks didn't fly until the end of the year when both found themselves dateless for prom. They agreed to go together as "friends", although quickly became much more.
The Proposal
After nearly 9 years of dating, Jeff decided it might be time to make it official. It was a Friday night and they went out to dinner at the Olive Garden (Jeff suggested a much nicer restaurant, but Jenn was feeling poor and REALLY wanted soup, salad, and breadsticks). They picked up a bottle of champagne on the way home, which felt normal because they had been drinking a lot of champagne lately. At home, they sat on the couch, sipped champagne, and talked about their future. Jeff commented that Jenn was not wearing a pearl ring that he had given her a few years back, and Jenn panicked thinking she had left it at the restaurant. She looked in the kitchen, the bathroom, and the bedroom and was ready to admit defeat, only to find Jeff down on one knee offering a new ring instead. Jenn didn't quite realize what was happening until Jeff told her that he had hid her old ring to give her this new one, then of course Jenn said yes!
